# Instructions:

01 - Combine ground flaxseed with water in a small bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to thicken.
02 - In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher, leaving some texture.
03 - Add rolled oats, chopped onion, grated carrot, minced garlic, tomato paste, soy sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to the mashed beans and mix well.
04 - Stir the flaxseed mixture into the bean mixture until thoroughly combined.
05 - Allow the mixture to rest for 5 minutes to absorb excess moisture.
06 - Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
07 - Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
08 - Cook patties for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until crisp and golden brown.
09 - Serve the patties on buns with desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, avocado, and vegan condiments.
